A downloadable MeijiCardGame

In Meiji, players are placed within the historical period of the Meiji Reformation of 1868, where Japan underwent many social, political, and economic changes. The restoration was a result of a coup by the emperor against the Tokugawa Shogunate, the military government in control at the time.

Players represent the opposing forces during this period, the Meiji Emperor and the Shogunate, and fight for control of three Spheres of influence. Over the course of 20 rounds, players build their decks from their starting cards by purchasing cards from the Aid Shop using the Support they earn. Cards belong to one of the three Spheres and provide the players with more control of the spheres.

At the end of each round, players gain Support based on the amount of control they have over each Sphere. This Support is the currency needed to purchase Shop Cards. The balance of the game is disrupted by periodic or triggered random events (from Random Event Cards) that can change the tide of victory or affect the way players will strategize. So join the battle of this historical timeline, and rewrite history to determine how the Meiji Reformation ends. Will it stay on course with a Meiji Emperor victory or veer into an alternate timeline where the Shogunate remains in power?
